Tunnel Rat Bunker Demolition
in Vietnam

We have unearthed some great old film footage at the Australian War Memorial featuring a team of Tunnel Rats setting up an enemy bunker system for demolition. The lads featured are from 2 Troop and they are working with 7RAR on an operation in January 1971.

We can identify two of the Tunnel Rats; Sapper Mick Bergin (wearing his sweat-rag as a bandanna), seen setting up C4 charges and dropping in and out of bunkers. The other identifiable lad is Sapper Eric Thompson (with the moustache and wearing the hanging out style shirt) who appears to be the team leader.
