Kismet Riverside Lodge is located in a small rural town called Howlong.

 

Howlong is on the Murray River border. You could say Howlong is the hub of a spoked wheel, central to many of regional towns like Albury, Wodonga, Beechworth, Rutherglen (wineries) and is a perfect place to stay to do day trips in any direction.

 

Rhonda, Mark & Mary are your hosts, we are a family run business that have owned and operated the park for the past 18 years.

 

Kismet Riverside Lodge is set in a rural environment which gives you that peace and tranquility of country living. We offer a wide range of flexible accommodation to best suit your needs.

 

Relaxation is the aim, that’s the reason you’re going on a holiday, here you can sit by the river and watch the world go by, the park has a tennis court, salt water pool, concrete boat ramp with access to the river and spacious camp sites.

 

The town of Howlong has all your daily needs, if your into golf, bring the clubs and have a play on one the best country golf courses around.

 

The park is on the outskirts of town and set well back of the road for a good night sleep, some say it’s an Oasis but you’ll never know if you don’t give us ago.

"During hard times I went to the shops to buy some wool and found that it was out of my budget. I came home and looked out into my paddock and saw my 500 sheep standing out there, just grazing, So I decided to go out and buy a spinning wheel instead. That was in 1989 and I haven't knitted with commercial wool since!" - Barb

 

Teaching herself to spin and finding various ways to create special one off items, Barb has become knowledgeable in this specialised craft that is hundreds of years old.

 

After moving to Neerim South, she saw that most of her neighbours had either sheep or alpacas in their backyards. Thinking back to her early days, Barb decided she would like to show people how to make use of what they have in their backyards by teaching them the art of spinning - passing on the old ways of using wool as it is a calming and relaxing activity that makes you feel good about yourself.

 

Barb has won many awards and prizes over the years and she loves passing on her expertise and knowledge

Ramsdale Wreckers was opened in the 1980's and has been owned and operated by Russell Hill since 2000. In 2010 we opened Ramsdale Mechanical which is located in the adjoining factory to the wreckers.
